Your Corporate Film Has to Do More Than Look Good
Corporate Films From Other Agencies
❌ Aesthetics over ROI: The film looks good, but there's no strategy behind it. An expensive film that doesn't earn its keep.
❌ Fragmented process: Strategy and creative production sit in separate silos, which costs momentum and quality.
❌ Not enough experience: Great ideas without experience lead to promises that can't be kept and films without a clear vision.

Busch microsystems
The challenge: Moving away from the image of "the granite people" towards a specialist in bespoke high-precision positioning systems.
The concept: Maximum focus on aesthetics, to mirror the quality of the product. Real employees presented as the experts they are. Built as a video series – a corporate film plus several product videos with testimonials.
The result: "Precision is perfection." More engagement at trade fair stands and a higher close rate with new customers.
F&S Concept Projektentwicklung
The challenge: An after-sales corporate film that buyers could use to share their excitement with friends and family.
The concept: To move people, we focused on how a plot of land actually feels – through three audiences with very different needs: a family, a young couple and an older couple.
The result: "A plot of land is a future." Strong response across online channels and a high share rate among buyers and prospects.
EWV Energieversorgung
The challenge: More than just a utility provider – showing how many parts of daily life EWV makes possible as a regional sponsor and supporter.
The concept: Dive straight into the customers' world with emotive imagery: leisure, training, e-mobility, volunteering and culture. A well-known voice adds trust.
The result: "Your energy. Your region." A stronger local image and better logo recall in everyday life.

Corporate Films: What You Need to Know
Our free Pathfinder Studios primer on corporate films. If you have further questions, just book a free consultation with our experts.
So you can revisit this and share it with colleagues and decision-makers, we've put everything worth knowing about corporate films, along with clear examples, into our free handbook, available for immediate download.
What is a corporate film?
A corporate film is a film made for a company that builds a positive image through a deliberate mix of emotion and information.
That makes corporate films the all-rounder among company films, and the single most important tool in video marketing.
Corporate film or corporate video? Both terms are in common use. The word "video" is often associated with lower budgets and lower quality, which is why we tend to say "film". But it's your film – call it whatever you like.
What are the benefits of a corporate film?
The advantage of a corporate film is that it deals with the company as a whole. That also makes it the most durable form of marketing you can invest in.
It can be used almost anywhere: on your homepage, in company presentations, at events such as anniversaries, or running on a loop in your foyer.
The corporate film is the foundation of video marketing and the ideal way in. No company should be without one.
Its value lies in strengthening customer relationships and your reputation. Over time, a corporate film can grow revenue, win new employees and win new customers.
But it has to be made well, or it won't reach its goal – and it may even damage the brand. A corporate film needs strong images, emotional messages and a sense of substance, all at once.
Corporate film facts
Corporate films usually run 3 to 7 minutes and typically cost between €10,000 and €50,000.
95% of marketers say that using video strategically has dramatically increased brand awareness with their target audience.
83% of companies using explainer videos on their website say the investment pays for itself quickly through new customers.
84% of consumers (B2B & B2C) say a brand's video convinced them to buy a product or service.
Which companies is a corporate film right for?
Any company, whatever its size or sector. A corporate film can be a startup's very first piece of marketing, or the centrepiece of a long-established mid-sized company's anniversary.
It often becomes the foundation for further company films. Parts of it can be reused for trade fair stands, recruitment videos or industrial films.
Because every corporate film is built around your goals, your identity and your budget, it belongs on the list whenever you're weighing up marketing options.
For all that, a corporate film can't do everything. To lift short-term sales, a commercial or product film is the better fit. Events are best captured with an event film, and complex subjects are best handled by an explainer video. And when the audience is candidates, the specialised form is the recruitment video.
Who produces corporate films?
The best partner for your corporate film is a film production company. Around 80% of all company films are made by professional production companies.
Working with a production company means everything comes from one place: from the idea through the shoot to editing and sound, a professional outfit covers the lot.
The other option is your advertising agency. The upside is that they know your marketing and communications line and can steer the process for you. But in most cases the agency acts purely as an intermediary, which can mean longer lines of communication.
At the lower end of the market, corporate films are also made by freelance media designers ("videographers"). Here we'd generally advise caution. Because the job title isn't protected in Germany, the field attracts its share of unreliable operators. Does the supplier have the people, the equipment and the resources to guarantee a production that won't fall over? Do they carry the right insurance?
When in doubt, look at the legal form of the business, ask for references, and trust your instincts.
The best partner for producing a corporate film is always a film production company.
Where can you use a corporate film?
In a lot of places. A corporate film works beautifully on your own website and across social media (Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo).
They're also popular offline – on screens in the foyer or reception area, or as an opener for presentations and client meetings.
(For films with a specific sales or training purpose, we'd recommend explainer videos or product films.)
In general, a corporate film can go anywhere video can be shown. Online and offline, digital and analogue.
We'd usually advise against using a corporate film in two places: cinema and TV (a short commercial or product film works better) and trade fairs and events (an event film is the right tool).
For fast-moving platforms like Instagram, a shorter commercial tends to work better; and for career networks like LinkedIn, a dedicated recruitment video is the stronger choice.
Examples of good corporate films
You'll find examples of successful films on this page. There are more in our free handbook.
Bear in mind that every company and every goal is different, so no two corporate films are alike. Is your focus on information or on emotion? Is your audience technical (B2B) or general (B2C)? What is your culture, and what is your marketing? A good corporate film – and a good production company – takes all of that into account.
What should you budget for a corporate film?
There's no single answer. Every corporate film is built around the specific company and the specific goal.
For planning purposes, we'd suggest budgeting somewhere between €10,000 and €50,000. Smaller companies, simpler facilities and simpler processes usually need less; larger companies and more complex processes need more.
One decisive cost factor is the fees for the people in front of the camera and behind the mic – actors and models, voice talent and musicians. A single day rate here can run into several thousand euros, on top of everything else. It can still be worth it: a performer always transfers part of their own image onto your company.
The total cost breaks down into pre-production (concept, script, storyboard), the shoot (crew, cast and equipment, multiplied by the number of shoot days – usually 2 to 10 for a corporate film) and post-production (editing, sound and, where needed, animation).
Most production companies bill by day rate. Flat fees and "fixed prices" are unusual, and worth looking at closely.
